Astera Labs raises $50 million in Series C at a valuation of $950 million to keep its momentum going and expand its focus to fix connectivity bottlenecks in the whole data center.

A press release from Astera Labs said that the company raised $50 million in an oversubscribed Series C funding round led by Fidelity Management and Research at a $950 million valuation to speed up the company’s product and customer momentum.

Astera Labs got its Series B funding in April last year. With the end of this round, investors have given Astera about $85 million. Atreides Management and Valor Equity Partners join Fidelity and other investors like Avigdor Willenz Group, GlobalLink1 Capital, Intel Capital, Sutter Hill Ventures, and VentureTech Alliance.

Astera Labs was started in 2017 and offers ways for data-centric systems in the data center to connect. The company’s product line includes system-aware integrated circuits, boards, and services that make CXL and PCIe connections more stable. CEO of Astera Labs, Jitendra Mohan, was happy about the investment and said it solidified the company’s position as a leader in cloud connectivity solutions.

Astera said that it would use the money from the funding to keep up its momentum and increase its efforts to fix connectivity bottlenecks all over the data center. Avigdor Willenz, an early investor in Astera Labs, Annapurna Labs, Habana, and other labs, said,
