Invincible season 2 news is finally coming in January 2023
We’re about to hear some big news about Invincible’s second season.
Invincible, a very popular animated series on Prime Video, will be back in 2023, almost two years after the first season ended. What makes us think this? In January 2023, there will be a big announcement, so the release date must be close.
Since Invincible is one of the best Prime Video shows ever, this is something to be happy about. Below, we’ll tell you more about this big news about season 2 of Invincible, as well as other important information about the show’s return. This includes the actors who will be back, possible plot points, the show’s future, and more.
Coming up are major reveals about the first season of Invincible and the comics it is based on. There may be spoilers for Season 2 in the parts of this site that talk about the characters and the story. If you don’t want to know what happens in the book before it comes out, use the menu on the left to go to the next page.
No date has been set for Season 2 of Invincible. We won’t have to wait too long to find out, though. The social media pages for Invincible have confirmed that a season 2 update is coming in January 2023.
In that month, Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley’s R-rated superhero comic series will have been out for 20 years. On January 22, 2003, the first one came out. So it was probably going to be said around this time. Still, we’re happy that we were right. We thought we’d hear something official in January 2023, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a release date.
In April 2021, the producers of Invincible decided to make seasons 2 and 3. (A new window will open) Writer Simon Racioppa says that both seasons have been in the works for longer than fans think.
Racioppi told TechRadar that they have been working on the second season of Invincible for a while. “We’re working very hard on it.” Robert Kirkman, who helped make Invincible, works on it almost every day, so I do too. We talk about it, and the process is well on its way. I don’t think people know how long we’ve been working on it, but it takes a while. There’s a lot going on.”
In April 2022, Steven Yeun, who plays the main voice actor, began recording his lines for the second season of Invincible:
J.K. Simmons, who plays Nolan Grayson/Omni-Man, told Discussing Film a month ago that the cast would be going into the recording booth very soon. And it looks like some, if not most, of the voice actors are done with their work for season 2. The actor who plays Black Sansom on the show, Khary Payton, told ScreenRant: “The second season is over.” “We’re working on season 3, but right now it’s hard to say when it will be out.
So, when might the second season of Invincible come out? We think it will happen at the beginning of the year 2023. No matter how far along the process of making something is, there is still a lot to do. We think that a firm release date will be given in January 2023. Later, we’ll get a trailer and other important news.
We don’t know for sure, but we think that these actors will be back for season 2 of Invincible:
Mark Grayson/Invincible is played by Steven Yeun.
Simmons plays Nolan Grayson/Omni-Man in the movie.
Grey Griffin as Rae getting smaller and Amanda, who is Monster Girl when she’s not a monster.
Kevin Michael Richardson played Monster Girl and the Mauler Twins. Seth Rogen played Allen the Alien. Mahershala Ali as Titan Robot’s voice in season 1 was done by Zachary Quinto, but it’s not clear if he’ll be back for season 2. During the first season, Rudy Conners’ host body was Robot. Rudy couldn’t live outside of his saltwater tank at first because of his genes.
Rudy’s mind was moved to his new clone body in episode 7. Rudy’s voice is now done by Ross Marquand, so we don’t know if Quinto will come back. Robot has a big role in the comics, but we don’t know if those things will happen in season 2 of Invincible, season 3, or later.
Chris Diamantopoulos (Doc Seismic), Fred Tatasciore (Kill Cannon), Clancy Brown (Damien Darkblood), Jeffrey Donovan (Machine Head), Ezra Miller (D.A. Sinclair), and Michael Dorn (D.A. Sinclair) could also return (Battle Beast and Thokk). Kirkman has hinted that some of them might come back (more on that below), but we don’t know who.
Kirkman has also said that he would like to see more of the TV cast of The Walking Dead show up in his books. Yeun, Marquand, Laurie Cohan, Michael Cudlitz, Sonequa Martin-Green, and Lennie James have already given their voices to the show, but Kirkman wants more Walking Dead stars to join.
Kirkman told the website ComicBook.com, “I can’t think of an actor on “The Walking Dead” that I wouldn’t want to work with again.” It’s a great group of actors. “I’d like to bring in Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and just about anyone else.
The first season’s Martian Man, Chad Coleman, wants to come back for sure. Coleman told the UK newspaper The Daily Express that he couldn’t wait to go back, even though Omni-Man had just killed Martian Man.
Coleman said, “Of course it [Invincible] is great.” Kirkman and everyone else who works with him are all very talented. I had a great time, and I’m really happy with how it turned out. I’m just saying, “Hey man, bring me back for some more.
Both the first season of Invincible and the graphic novels will be spoiled in a big way.
Season 2 of Invincible could go in a lot of different ways, but we already know what the next episode might be about. This is based on the last episode of Invincible’s first season and some clues from the show’s official Twitter account.
First, let’s discuss season 1’s last episode. Omni-Man was supposed to take over Earth for the Viltrumite Empire, but when he realized he couldn’t kill Mark and make people slaves for his people, he broke down in tears and flew off into space, not knowing where he was going.
Season 2 should keep going with this storyline. Mark will be in charge of keeping the Viltrumites from taking over the Earth. He will also have to help the Coalition of Planets stop the Viltrumites from spreading out across the universe. Allen the Alien told Mark that a fleet is coming, and since Allen will be more important in the comics from now on, their friendship is likely to get stronger.
Also, we need to find out what happened to Nolan/Omni-Man. In the comics, Nolan quits his job on Earth and goes to invade another planet. He hopes that this will make up for it. With the Viltrum Empire, he does this. The comics go into detail about Mark and Nolan’s relationship, so the animated show has a lot more to talk about. We could talk about the relationship between a father and son for a long time, but for now, let’s just say that we’ll see more of Simmons’ Nolan next season.
Other than that, the show should go to space. From the book to the movie, you can expect strange worlds, strange characters, and a plot that spans the universe.
The last episode of Season 1 also hinted at other possible storylines for Season 2. The story of the Sequins wasn’t really over, so we should see more of it. We know a Martian got to Earth because he switched places with an astronaut. Also, the Sequins now have control of the astronaut who was left behind on Mars. If this parasitic race heads for Earth, it could be bad news for the blue planet.
We might also find out more about Titan and Battle Beast. When we last saw them, they had taken over Machine Head’s criminal organization and teleported away from Earth. In the comics, their stories keep going, and Kirkman has already hinted that Battle Beast, a fan favorite, will get more screen time in season 2 of Invincible. Even though Omni-Man destroyed their planet in episode 2, it looks like the Flaxans will also be back.
Parts of the story that were never even told in the Invincible comics are interesting news. Kirkman told Beyond the Trailer that he wanted the show to tell stories that were too long for graphic novels. Kirkman uses Damien Darkblood as an example. In the fourth episode, Cecil Stedman sent Damien back to Hell. It’s not clear if this will be in season 2, though.
Kirkman has said more about what could happen in season 2 of Invincible. He says that Mark’s biggest enemy from the comics, Angstrom Levy, could be a part of it.
Kirkman said at the virtual Skybound Xpo Invincible panel (where he wouldn’t say when season 2 would come out): “He [Levy] really stirs up trouble. If you’ve read the comic books and watched the TV show, you’ll know where the second season is going. This is especially true when you think about how we changed the story in the first season.”
Kirkman also told fans at Skybound Xpo that “crazy stuff” was coming, and Jason Mantzoukas said he can’t wait for season 2 to “introduce more villains… like Thragg” and more of the comic series’ intergalactic elements.
Mantzoukas gave Collider (which opens in a new tab) a short but interesting update about season 2 of Invincible in November 2022. He said, “I can’t say anything about it except that it will be great.” We want to know more, Jason.
There isn’t a trailer yet, but there will be a big update to season 2 of Invincible in January 2023, so maybe we’ll get a short teaser then. We will always update this section as soon as a new one comes out, no matter what.
Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley have written 144 Invincible comics over the course of 15 years. Some plot points changed during the first season of the TV show, but the first eight episodes only covered the first 23 issues. If the rest of the seasons go the same way, Invincible could end around season 7 or 8.
Kirkman says that there could be more or less. In an interview with ScreenRant, he said there is a “rough roadmap” for how things from the comics will be used. Kirkman told the website Inverse (which opens in a new tab) that he liked the comic. “It might last five, seven, or even ten years,” I said. Maybe there won’t be any more comics, and then we’ll do 100 seasons.”
We could see At Least Five Seasons of Invincible. Kirkman is just excited about his own work in the last song. If people want more, Amazon would be crazy to end it after three seasons. But a lot of that will depend on whether or not people watch the next two seasons of Invincible.
Or won’t? In an interview with Collider, Seth Rogen seemed to say that Invincible will go on after season 3. TechRadar asked Amazon for a comment, but Amazon said that “nothing official has been announced,” so we still don’t know what will happen to the show.
Amazon’s live-action series The Boys, based on the R-rated comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, has been a big hit. So there’s no reason why season 2 of Invincible can’t build on what season 1 did and be on for many more years.

Will there ever be a Invincible season 2?
At first, Sanders tried to be sneaky and told us, “2023 is going to be a great year for people.” But when we persisted and asked Sanders to confirm that new episodes would start airing in 2023, he gave us a very clear “yes.” Then it’s official. Season 2 of Invincible will air in 2023.
