Well-known brands got where they are by making great products that have been used for a long time and have many happy customers. You might know some of the brands and products on this list. Warren Oil Company makes a lot of things, but you can find them all over the place. It looks like they have an exclusive deal with Walmart, or at least they don’t list their products on Amazon.

ExxonMobil
What can be said about ExxonMobil, a company with over 70,000 employees and sales of $178 billion in 2020? It makes one of the most popular brands of motor oil, Mobil 1, as well as almost everything else that has to do with oil.

Exxon and Mobil joined together to form ExxonMobil in 1999, but both companies had the same name for more than 100 years before that. In 1870, John D. Rockefeller and some other people started the Standard Oil Company. People and the government were always putting pressure on the company because of how they ran their business, which gave them a monopoly on the US market.

The Supreme Court of the United States decided that Standard Oil should be split into 34 different companies. One of them, Jersey Standard in New Jersey, would become Exxon, and the other, Socony in New York, would become Mobil.

In 1955, Socony-Vacuum changed its name to Socony Mobil Oil Company. In 1966, it changed its name again, this time to Mobil Oil Corporation. Jersey Standard had its own name changes, and in 1965 it was finally called Exxon Chemical Company.

How to Find Out Who Made the Oil in Your Area

Even though Supertech is a brand, the oil in each bottle won’t be the same all over the country. The three oil companies send their oil in packages to Walmart, which then sends it to local stores. You can’t always tell where Supertech Oil came from by where it was made, so I’m going to give you some tips on how to find out who made it.

It’s important to remember that you can’t tell what you’re getting when you buy something online.

ExxonMobil
Looking at the bottle cap is the best way to tell if the oil was made by ExxonMobil. It’s bigger than a normal Supertech cap and will be similar to or the same as the caps on Mobil 1 oil bottles.

Pennzoil
The stamp on the package shows that the oil was made by Pennzoil. Because it was packed by Constar, the bottom of the container will have a small letter C with a star inside it. Keep in mind, though, that Warren will also use Constar packaging if they run out of their own. Check the labels to see if there is a white rectangle to confirm or rule out Warren as the manufacturer.

How come Supertech Oil costs less?

The reason they’re cheaper is that stores like Amazon and Walmart can order so many of them that the manufacturer can give them a much better price than anyone else. They already have places to store and sell these products, like warehouses and stores.

Because the price is so low, stores don’t have to spend money to market their brand. Not only does the store pay less for these items, but it can also sell them for less profit and still make money.

When you add up all of these things, store-brand products are cheaper than almost everything else. To keep a healthy market, however, stores give their products boring names and labels and try to hide where the products were made.

But store brands are a great way to save money and get a high-quality product when you know where the product comes from.

How good is Supertech Oil?

Yes, Supertech oil is good, and you can use it without worrying about causing damage to your engine. It comes in most SAE grades and has different versions to fit more engine types.

The best way to check how well engine oil works is to use it for a full maintenance cycle and see how well it works. During my research, I came across hundreds of positive reviews from customers who were happy with Supertech and used it in their cars for hundreds of thousands of miles. All of the requirements for API and ILSAC approval are met by Supertech oil, so it will work fine in any standard passenger car.

Cons

When it was time to change the oil in November, I drained it and saw that there were only 2.6–2.7 quarts in the drain pan. WOW, where did all that oil go?
